Tau Beta Pi is the oldest and most prestigious engineering honor society. The Florida Alpha Chapter was founded in 1961 and, out of 246 collegiate chapters, is one of the nation's most active. We have been named the Most Outstanding Chapter eight times.
Our purpose is to recognize exceptional engineering students, encourage young students to pursue engineering, and serve our local community. To be eligible for membership, juniors must be in the top eighth of their class, and seniors and graduate students must be in the top fifth of their class; all candidates must demonstrate exemplary character. We have two major programs to encourage young students to pursue engineering degrees: GatorTRAX and The TEE Program (tutoring). You can learn more about service opportunities by visiting our Master List of Dates.
In preparation for the developing COVID-19 situation, TBP-FLA has made the following adjustments to its calendar of events and to general goings-on of the organization.
Our second General Body Meeting will be October 12th at 7:20pm in-person! Location TBA. Virtual option will be available as well, but we encourage you to come in-person if you can (and are comfortable) so that we can get to know you better!
Are you an undergraduate member beginning your senior year of study? Tau Beta Pi will soon be opening applications for their 2020-2021 scholarships! More info here!
