Eligibility Notifications
Academically-eligible students receive an email and a letter informing them of their eligibility. The academic requirements are listed on the Candidate Information page.
September 6, 2018
Information Session
President will introduce the officers, cover the history of Tau Beta Pi, explain Florida Alpha's goals and purpose, give an in-depth explanation of the membership process, and introduce a few of the Chapter's projects.
By March 12, 2019
Interviews
Interviews for both undergraduates and graduates are due before Meeting 3. Forms can be found in the Election Process section of the Candidate Information page. Please complete the form online before meeting with a member of the Advisory Board for your in-person interview.
January 29, 2019
Meeting 1
Attend to express your interest in joining Tau Beta Pi.

Member/Candidate Social
Attend the member/candidate social to get to know the officers and members. Remember, if we don't know who you are, how are we suppose to evaluate your character? Also, this social is required for distinguished electee status.
February 19, 2019
Graduate Forms Deadline
Graduate qualification forms and advisor letters must be submitted. Late forms will not make it to Nationals on time.

Meeting 2
Attend to get information on upcoming events.
February 12, 2019
Candidate Election
CANDIDATES DO NOT ATTEND . Active members will vote to elect or not elect all candidates who have filled out an application. For more information on the election process, visit the Candidate Information page.

March 17, 2019
Engineering Futures
Attend one of the three engineering futures sessions for distinguished electee status. For more information regarding E-Futures, visit the Engineering Futures
March 19, 2019
Meeting 3 (Members only)
You should have completed all necessary paperwork by this date. Candidate Elections will be held immediately after the Meeting.
March 21, 2019
Electee-Only Social
Attend the electee-only social to get to know your fellow electees.
April 2, 2019
Meeting 4
The final meeting before initiation. By this point, you should have read the Constitution and Bylaws of the Association and the Chapter. $100 lifetime fees are due. You will receive your bents once you pay. If you would like to polish your bent to be eligible for the "Best Bent" award, instructions for that can be found here.
April 7, 2019
Initiation
Mandatory, no exceptions! Do not be late . All electee requirements must be completed prior to initiation. To be eligible for Best Bent, this is the deadline for polishing your bent. For those electees who want to be distinguished electees, the additional requirements must be completed by this point also.
Day of Initiation
Banquet
Only those newly-initiated members who attend the banquet are eligible for the Best Bent award ($50).
