Engineering Futures

What is Engineering Futures?

The award-winning Tau Beta Pi Engineering Futures Program was founded more than 20 years ago in response to a need to provide engineering students training in the "soft skills," those non-technical skills necessary for success in the workplace but rarely included in engineering curricula.

There are five different sessions. Florida Alpha offers two sessions in fall and the remaining three sessions in spring:

  • People Skills - communicating and resolving interpersonal problems
  • Team Chartering - working in teams
  • Group Process - planning and managing effective meetings
  • Analytical Problem Solving - solving problems in a team environment
  • Effective Presentation Skills - public speaking and formal presentation preparation

These sessions are offered free of charge to University of Florida students of ANY major or grade level. You do not have to be a member of Tau Beta Pi to attend. We only ask that you RSVP.

Any questions should be directed to the Vice President.
